Meet our Arabic and Quran teachers.
Chief Executive Officer
Shaykh Mahmoud Al-Assal, an Egyptian Al-Azhar graduate, is a highly distinguished Qur’an scholar with numerous Ijāzāt in Tajwīd and the Ten Qirāʾāt. With over 13 years of teaching experience, he instructs both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers. Since 2019, he has served as Director and Senior Instructor at Shaykhi Academy, teaching advanced Qur’anic and Arabic programs.
Managing Director
Mr. Luqman El-Kasabany is an Egyptian Arabic-speaking Managing Director of Shaykhi Academy and an Al-Azhar graduate in Islamic Studies. He is a Hafiz with multiple Qur’an Ijazahs and teaches Qur’an and Islamic sciences online. He authored the academy’s curriculum, holds leadership roles there, and has additional training in child development, PMP, and digital marketing. His young age helps him relate well to younger students.
Senior Qur’an Teacher
Mr. Ahmed Ramadan is an accomplished Qur’an teacher and professional translator with a bachelor’s in Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University. He has three years of experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to non-native speakers and translating Islamic and legal texts. Memorized the Qur’an by age eleven, he holds multiple ijazāt and has served five years as an imam, enriching his teaching with deep Qur’anic knowledge.
Egyptian Qur’an teacher
Shaykh Ahmed Hassan Saber, an Egyptian graduate of Al-Azhar’s Pharmacy faculty, is a Hafiz with Ijazat in Qur’an recitation and has extensive experience teaching Tajweed and Arabic to non-native speakers.
Al-Azhar–educated Islamic studies teacher
Mr. Mahmoud Elsaid is an Al-Azhar graduate and native Arabic speaker who memorized the Qur’an early and is pursuing his Ijazah. He has over two years of teaching experience and holds two education diplomas, enabling him to teach Qur’an and Islamic sciences effectively to students of all ages.
Al-Azhar–educated Qur’an teacher
Mr. Abdullah Moftah is an Egyptian Qur’an teacher, imam, and preacher with a degree in Islamic Studies in English from Al-Azhar University and a license in ‘Asim Barawiyyah recitation.
Qur’an teacher
Mr. Nour Eddin Mahmoud is an Egyptian Qur’an teacher and Al-Azhar student who memorized the Qur’an at 13 and holds multiple Ijazahs in Qira’at and Hadith texts. He teaches both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers in Arabic and English, and is known for clearly explaining Islamic topics and using educational games to engage children.

Egyptian medical student fluent in Arabic, English, and French who teaches Qur’an, Tajweed, and Islamic studies to non-Arabic speakers and has institutional and self-development experience.
Mrs. Asmaa Abdul Rahman is a highly qualified Qur’an and Tajweed teacher with over 10 years of experience and a degree from Al-Azhar University. She teaches children and women, covers Qur’an, Tajweed, basic Arabic, and Islamic studies, and is known for her clear, motivating teaching style. She holds an Ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim.
Ms. Alaa Elbakry is a native Arabic speaker and Arts graduate from Alexandria University with Tajweed certification and Qur’an memorization credentials. She teaches Qur’an online, participates in charity work, and is a published author of two books.
Qur’an and Arabic teacher from Egypt
Ms. Kholoud Hamada is a Qur’an teacher from Egypt who has memorized the Qur’an and specializes in Tajweed. Fluent in Arabic and English, she has over three years of teaching experience, adapts well to different learners, holds an Ijazah in Tohfa Al-Atfal, and is currently pursuing an Ijazah in ‘Asim recitation.
Arabic and Qur’an tutor
Asmaa Gohar is a certified Arabic and Islamic studies tutor from Egypt with over six years of experience teaching non-native speakers. A graduate of Al-Azhar University, she teaches MSA, Egyptian Arabic, and Qur’an with Tajweed using interactive, student-focused, and flexible methods.
